To ensure you are using the correct legislation for the new tax year in your Sage Payroll software, you should:
Go to the Company tab, then select Legislation. You will see the tax and NI codes that are being used by looking at either the tax tab or the NI tab. The tax and NI codes for the current tax year 2012/13 can be viewed here.
To make sure you are then up to date with any in-year legislative changes, check the box for “check for online legislation updates”. It is also worth checking the box for “Prompt before performing check”. This way you will know the software is looking for / making changes.
By taking these couple of quick steps, you will be safe in the knowledge you’ll remain up to date.
